The actress Kim Tae Ri did not wear a phoney dress, contrary to popular belief. In fact, the editor-in-chief of the editorial shop that sponsored the dress stated this explicitly.
Some Chinese netizens speculated that Kim Tae-Ri’s white dress was a ‘fake’ at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards 2022, on the 6th of May.
Their contention is that Kim Tae-Ri’s clothing has slightly different elements from the dress worn by Hollywood actress Dakota Johnson on the Red Carpet in 2019, and that Kim’s clothes are counterfeit products.
The original design of the brand dress worn by Dakota Johnson three years ago featured a U-shaped top, whereas Kim Tae-Ri’s outfit had a flat top.
On the 9th, the head of the editorial shop who sponsored and produced Kim Tae-ri’s dress said, “Kim Tae-ri’s dress is a genuine dress from a brand called Brandon Maxwell.” Our boutique is an exclusive buyer of the Brand, and Kim Tae-Ri’s dress skirt is an original Brand product.
“Since each model has a different body type, of course it is feasible to change the original design,” CEO Lee remarked. Even Kim Tae-Ri’s outfit was not altered. It was only a shape modification in the process of decreasing the skirt because it was larger than the model.”
“The clothing are fixed according to each individual’s body type,” he stated. The dress’s shape is altered as a result of repairs, etc. This is due to the fact that it is not a “custom” outfit. He explained, “We do it right.”
So, the rumors that actress Kim Tae-ri wore a fake dress were not true at all.
