Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist Plot Synopsis
With the help of an eccentric teacher named Gye Ji-han and a widow named Seo Eun-woo of the enigmatic and beautiful Gyesu Village, Yoo Se-poong, a brilliant physician for the royal family who faces expulsion from the royal court after becoming involved in a conspiracy, is reborn as a true doctor who seeks to heal people’s hearts by writing the prescription of happiness.

The royal palace is aware of Yoo Se Poong’s (played by Kim Min-Jae) renowned medical prowess. He was nonetheless banished from the royal court after his participation in a plot against the royal family was discovered. He relocates and starts a job in the weird yet beautiful Gyesu Village.

Kim Hyang Gi plays Seo Eun Woo, who comes from a noble family and possesses acute observational abilities as well as a strong sense of empathy, is another resident of the village. She reflects the experiences of the heartbroken widow today. She feels mistreated by her sudden marriage and is ready to become an unwilling wife who adheres to her dead husband’s morals.
