Actor Ahn Tae-hwan has been confirmed to appear in the SBS drama “Today’s Webtoon.”
On July 19, Ahn Tae-hwan’s agency, Sublime stated that Ahn Tae-hwan will play Choi Doo-hee in the upcoming Friday-Saturday SBS drama “Today’s Webtoon”.
Today’s Webtoon is an upcoming South Korean business-comedy drama series starring Kim Se-Jeong, Choi Daniel, and Nam Yoon-Su as the main leads. It is based on the Japanese manga series Jhan Shuttai! by Naoko Matsuda and the Japanese drama Sleeper Hit. Its plot revolves around On Ma-eum, a former judo athlete, who struggles to fit in her new profession as a webcomic editor after retiring from judo because of an injury.
Ahn Tae Hwan will be portraying the character of Choi Doo-hee, editor of the neon webtoon editorial division. Choi Doo-hee is a comic book enthusiast who claims that comic books are his best friend they share all of his joys and sorrows. He says “I live in comics and dies to comics” and “worships comics.” Because he enjoys cartoons, he decided to become a webtoon editor. He also encourages webtoon writers so they can express their creativity.
Ahn Tae-hwan, who had his acting debut in JTBC’s “Double-Gap Pocha” in 2020, most recently left a lasting impression on viewers by playing the flawless role of Kim Jae-won, a third-year resident in thoracic surgery, in “Ghost Doctor.”
Meanwhile, Today’s Webtoon will air every Friday and Saturday at 22:00 pm (KST) on SBS (South Korean Television Channel) beginning July 29, 2022.
