On Netflix, “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” has regained the top spot for non-English dramas. On July 25–31, ENA’s “Extraordinary Woo Young-woo” (also known as “Strange Lawyer Woo Young-woo”) recorded 65.63 million views, placing it at #1 among non-English-speaking shows, according to Netflix’s official site, “Netflix Top 10.”
Extraordinary Attorney Woo is the most talked about the drama of the second half of 2022. From its very first episode, the audience rating was 0.95 percent, and by the seventh episode, it had reached 11.7 percent of viewership ratings which is the highest in ENA history.
“Woo Young-woo” is currently popular in a syndrome-like way. The whale mural house in Seongsu-dong and the Kimbap Restaurant owned by Wooyoung-woo’s father have both been designated as “certified shoot places,” and well-known stars like Yoona, Kim Hye-soo, RM, and Jung Yu-mi are drawing attention to their certifications of “Woo Young-woo’s sickness.
Two weeks in a consecutive, “Extraordinary Attorney woo” topped the weekly charts for the second week of July (July 4-10) and the third week (July 11-17). Then, on the weekly chart for the fourth week (July 18–24), “Woo Young-woo,” which had previously been ranked second behind the Spanish drama “Alba,” reclaimed the top spot and demonstrated its global appeal.
Meanwhile, Extraordinary Attorney Woo is a South Korean television legal drama series starring Park Eun-bin, Kang Tae-oh, and Kang Ki-young as the main leads.
