On the 15th of September, SBS released information regarding the production and casting of “Dr. Romantic Season 3.” Actor Han Seok-Gyu, who made seasons 1 and 2 smash hits, returns as the title character of “Dr Romantic Teacher Kim” under the collaboration of writers Kang Eun-Kyung and Lim Hye-min, and director Yoo In-Sik. Additionally, following season 2, Ahn Hyo-Seop and Lee Sung Kyung, the lead actors who made “Doctor Romantic” become a season-based drama, joined side by side.
The drama received a lot of appreciation for two consecutive seasons, with the first season, which aired in 2016, recording the highest rating of 27.6%, and the second season, which aired in 2020, recording the highest rating of 27.1%.
Dr Romantic Season 3 Plot-Synopsis
Doctor Romantic, is a drama depicting the story of a ‘real doctor’ that takes place in the background of a shabby local Doldam Hospital.
Season 1 followed the story of triple-board certified surgeon Boo Yong-Joo (Han Suk-kyu), who was formerly at the top of his profession and employed at Seoul’s top hospital, Geosan University Hospital. Following a traumatic event, he disappears and adopts the identity of Kim Sa-bu. He started working at a small hospital in Gangwon Province called Doldam. In order to help them become great doctors, he teaches Kang Dong-Joo (Yoo Yeon-Seok) and Yoon Seo-Jeong (Seo Hyun-jin) to battle against money and power for the benefit of patients.
The second season followed Kim Sa-bu visiting Geosan University Hospital to find a general surgeon three years after the events of the first season. He locates Seo Woo-jin (Ahn Hyo-seop), a medical professional with a problematic history who has been neglected by his colleagues and gives him the position. Cha Eun-Jae (Lee Sung-Kyung) is suspended after making another mistake in the operating room and is forced to accompany the two doctors to Doldam Hospital.
Season three will follow the story of Kim Sa-bu (Han Suk-kyu), Seo Woo-jin (Ahn Hyo-seop) and Cha Eun-Jae (Lee Sung-Kyung).
Dr Romantic Season 3 Cast
Han Seok-Gyu, who portrayed Teacher Kim in the first season of 2016’s “Dr. Romantic Season 1,” made an appearance and gave a lively performance. Yoo Yeon-Seok and Seo Hyun-jin also made an appearance. Then, Ahn Hyo-Seop, and Lee Sung-Kyung joined as new members in the second season of “Dr Romantic” which was released in 2020, lending a warm sensation and resonance to the small screen.
It was revealed that the lead actor Han Suk Kyu, who plays the titular role, as well as Ahn Hyo Seop and Lee Sung Kyung from Season 2, will be joining season 3.

Dr Romantic Season 3 Release Date
Filming of “Dr Romantic 3 / Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim 3,” which will feature familiar faces again, is planned with the intention of broadcasting in the first half of 2023.
