V scored top on Google as the most searched K-pop idol in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021, when BTS became a globally popular group.

He was named the number one ‘most sought star among Asian celebrities’ in 2021, which came as a surprise. According to Google data collected between January 1, 2021 and December 14, 2021, V ranked first in the ‘Google Highest Searched Asian Celebrities 100’, with the most search trends among Asian celebrities other than K-pop idols.
