In the first week of their comeback, Blackpink swept the #1 place on the global YouTube music charts.
Blackpink’s “Pink Venom” has reportedly risen to the top of the list of the top 100 global YouTube songs, as per the most recent ranking published by YouTube on the 28th of August (combined from August 19 to August 25). ‘Pink Venom’ was also the song with the highest views for a week, and Blackpink was placed in the top artist category.
Blackpink’s ‘Pink Venom’ music video, which was released as the second regular album’s pre-release single on the 19th of August, amassed 100 million views on YouTube in the shortest period (29 hours 35 minutes) of all K-pop girl groups.
Over 200 million people watched it in just seven and a half days. The YouTube channel gained almost 2.4 million new subscribers all at once, making it the first artist in history to achieve 80 million subscribers.
The highest K-Pop ranking ever was attained by Blackpink’s “Pink Venom,” which also topped the Spotify Daily Top Songs Global List for three straight days before falling to second place on the weekly chart. It has also reached the top of the iTunes song charts in 75 countries, including the US and the UK, and is demonstrating its dominance on numerous important global charts by making its debut at #22 on the UK’s official singles chart.
Several significant international media outlets also focused on BLACKPINK and gave them glowing coverage. According to Forbes, an American business magazine, with this pre-released song, Blackpink is “shaking the world.”
